• Joanna was born on March 20, 1989, in Royal Leamington Spa in the UK but was raised in Caracas in Venezuela.
• Her parents are the Harvard University Economics Professor Ricardo Hausmann (father), and her mother is the journalist Ana Julia Jatar.
• Education : She attended the Caracas American International School, as her parents wanted her to have an English education as well as receive an international experience. She graduated from there in 2007.
• She has said that while she enjoyed her friends at school, she did not enjoy all of the subjects and was grateful when she was able to graduate.
• Her father pushed her towards journalism & envisioned a career for her on the news circuit, and although she did intern at some news outlets, she said she did not enjoy the seriousness of it.
• Before her high school graduation, she was labeled as the class clown, an award she accepted gratefully.
• After moving to the USA, she attended Tufts University in Massachusetts where she majored in playwriting.

• Joanna shot to international fame due to her work with the bilingual platform Flama.
• She created her own program Joanna Rants through them, which airs on YouTube twice a week. The show talks about the difficulties faced by ethnic people in America and dealing with heritage-proud families.
• This led to her being offered a place in a comedy troupe named Siren. She toured with them for 1 year and earned rave reviews from critics.
