Yolanda McClary is an American crime scene investigator and a co-star on the TNT reality show Cold Justice.
She is also a TV producer, as well as the inspiration behind the character of Catherine Willows (played by Marg Helgenberger) on CSI: Crime Scene Investigation.

Yolanda McClary (maiden name Yolanda Anna González) was born on August 20, 1963, in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her father was one of the first senior Hispanic master sergeants in the US Air Force, and her mother is from the Netherlands.
Yolanda grew up in Las Vegas, where she attended Bonanza High School in the Las Vegas Valley.

Following her graduation from Bonanza High School, Yolanda went on to study at the College of Southern Nevada, where she achieved an Associate of Arts degree.
After that, Yolanda attended the American Institute of Applied Science, where she graduated from with a Forensic Science Diploma.
Yolanda has been married to her husband, Michael Kelly McClary since September 29, 1990.

Yolanda started working for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in April of 1985. She remained there in her role as senior crime scene investigator until November 2010, almost twenty-six years later.
During her time at the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, she got to be shadowed by Anthony E. Zuiker, a tram operator with a passion for television writing, when she was doing graveyard shifts. At the time, Yolanda wasn’t sure why the duty of showing him around had fallen to her, but when Anthony E. Zuiker left he told her she would be a character in his TV pilot if his script would be picked up.
To Yolanda’s great surprise, Anthony E. Zuiker’s script became the ground-breaking CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, which ran for over fifteen seasons.

Once the TV show began production, Yolanda was also shadowed by Marg Helgenberger, the actress cast to play the role inspired by Yolanda herself, Catherine Willows.
After she stopped working for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, Yolanda went on to co-star on the TNT reality show Cold Justice alongside Kelly Siegler.
