Indu Sonali is a playback singer who is famous for her superhit songs in the Bhojpuri language of the Bhojpuri Film Industry based in Bihar and Uttar Pradesh of India.
Personal Life :
- Indu Sonali was born in her hometown Bhagalpur town of Bihar where she spent most of her childhood and adult life. Her education happened from the B.S.E.B. University in Patna.
- Contrary to the popular perception that her first language is Bhojpuri, her mother tongue is Angika, a language spoken in some parts of Bihar.
- Before entering the Bhojpuri film industry, despite being unfamiliar with the language, she would later go on to sing more than 500 songs.
- Her idol in the Bhojpuri Film Industry is Sharda Sinha, a ‘Chatt’ song singer. Besides Bhojpuri, she has sung for movies in Marathi, Telugu, Tamil & Bengali languages as well.

- Indu Sonali was first noticed by music director Rajesh Gupta who gave her a break with the song ‘Panditji Batai Na Biah Kab Hoi’ (English: ‘Oh Priest, please tell me when is the wedding’) in the Bhojpuri film by the same name. The movie and its songs were a huge hit in the Bhojpuri industry and gained wide recognition for Indu Sonali.
- She went on to give hits like Lehriya Loot Re Raja (Partigya), Kahan Jaibe Raja Najariya (Kahan Jaiba Raja), Utha Deb Lenga (Damadji) and so on. She describes herself as a playback singer and stage performer on her official Facebook page.
- In an interview given to the local newspaper, Indu says she takes inspiration from the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar.
