After the success of the serial Jai Malhar, Colors Marathi suggested a new serial on the life of Ganpati Bappa. Mahesh Kothare, who produced Jai Malhar started work on this idea. This is also his son Adinath Kothare’s first show as a creative director.
The total cost of the set was around 1.75 crores, making it one of the most expensive shows on Marathi television. All the main characters were chosen to be fresh faces.
