Shemane was born and raised in Jackson County, Missouri. Growing up, her nickname was ‘Shelly’ as many had difficulty pronouncing the name.
She is married to Ted Nugent, the famous American singer-songwriter and guitarist. There is a 14-year age difference between the two.
Ted initially gained fame when he was the lead guitarist in the band The Amboy Dukes, formed in 1963. After playing with the band for some years, he journeyed on with a solo career.

The pair met in October 1988 when Ted was a guest on Detroit’s WLLZ-FM, and Shemane at the time was part of the station’s news staff.
After dating a short while, they got married in 1989 and had one son together, Rocco Winchester Nugent.
Shemane says the reasons that attracted her to Ted was that despite him being a rockstar, he led a drug-free healthy lifestyle, was fun, and was passionate about the things he loved.

She has also published three books, Married to a Rock Star,’ ‘Kill it & Grill it’ and ‘4 Minutes a Day, Rock ‘n Roll Your Way to Happy’. The last one became a best seller when it was released on Amazon.

Ted and Shemane still own property in Jackson County, a 300-acre stretch of land called ‘Sunrize,’ which is used for safari hunting and part-time residence.
The couple’s home in Michigan (which was featured on an episode of ‘MTV Cribs’) was contaminated with black mold. The mold had been growing in between the walls of their beloved 5,000-square-foot house and was circulating in the air.
Shemane had to take a break from her fitness lifestyle because of a serious illness that had developed as a result of the black mold. Her symptoms were similar to that of heart disease; she began to suffer from migraines, struggled to breathe, and had chronic fatigue.

Health Update :

Shemane Nugent Illness / Sick : During the early 2000s, the Nugent family contracted toxic mold poisoning from their house, and Shemane was hospitalized.
All of them suffered from chronic fatigue, trouble breathing, flu-like symptoms, and short-term memory loss.

Thank you for for providing this opportunity to address Shemane. I want to present something to her and Ted. I am a writer of music, screenplays and novels. I am NOT a performer! I have written a song that I want a female/male duet to sing. I would like that female to be Shemane. I would like Ted to be the male vocalist.

Attached is the story of how a musician friend and I wrote the song titled “Harley”. In my opinion, the song is perfect for both of them. If you Google
“Take Time Productions”, you can hear it. The song is copywritten as “Harley, David’s Son”.

I can provide you with a copy of the copyright, the permission letter I have from Harley corporate to release the song, the story of how we wrote the song and the lyric sheet. I am planning on producing an international music video that I would like the Nugent family to be in. Once this song hits the airwaves, the Nugents will own a piece of a financial windfall that, in my opinion, could last forever. I would very much like that to happen.

Please correct your information. Shemane never grew up in Missouri! She is not 6’1”! She was born in Mt Clemens, Michigan (MI) and grew up in Harrison Township & Shelby Township, MICHIGAN (MI).
