Born in 1982 in Hastings, Sussex, Sarah’s parents are Christopher Leslie Keith-Lucas (father) and Claire Forrester (mother). She also has an older brother. Her dad celebrated his 70th birthday in April 2019.
Sarah attended Cranbrook School in Kent and took her GCSEs at Robertsbridge Community College. She attended Collingwood College – Durham University, graduating with a degree in Geography, with a special interest in climate change and meteorology.
It is said that she was inspired to pursue her degree in Geography by an enthusiastic geography teacher, Mr White.

After getting her degree, she worked for two winter seasons in the Alps, where she had a chance to indulge in her love of winter sports.

Marriage and Children :

Sarah Keith-Lucas is married to Richard Sutton. As far as her husband is concerned, she has not revealed much.

There are two children in her family, both sons. Oscar and Leo are the names of her sons.

Sarah’s first appointment in her chosen field was at the Met Office in 2007. She received comprehensive training in weather forecasting at the Met Office college and then moved to be the weather forecaster in the Met Office headquarters in Exeter.
While in Exeter, she worked on a variety of reporting jobs; from preparing forecasts for airports and supermarkets.

Sarah is most well-known for her work as a broadcast meteorologist for BBC. Her first television appearance was around the year 2009, and she is still a regular. She replaced Carol Kirkwood as the prime weather journalist in 2017.

Life Outside Work :

Sarah also enjoys the great outdoors, and her favourite pastimes are travelling, camping and boating.

Her middle name is Dorothy, which is the first name of her late grandmother, Dorothy De Bauduy Robertson, who died in a car accident. Her grandfather nearly died in the same accident.
Sarah’s grandfather, Professor David Keith-Lucas, was the chief aerodynamicist with Short Brothers PLC and later, the chief director and designer with Short Bros and Harland. He was appointed Professor of Aircraft Design at the College of Aeronautics at Cranfield University.
Sarah has a female pet dog named ‘Ginger’, who regularly features on her social media feeds.
