Introduction :
Thomas Plant is a British TV personality, best known for his work with BBC’s auction based program Bargain Hunt. Apart from being a familiar face on TV, Thomas Plant also runs his own antiques firm in Berkshire.

- Thomas grew up on a farm, as his family was into beef farming.
- As a child, he often visited diverse cattle auctions along with his father, Stewart. This early exposure helped him develop a love for auctioneering.

- He decided to sign up for a three-year commission with the British Army, or to be more precise, with the 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery!
- In 1996, Thomas earned his Bachelor’s degree, with honors.
- From 1993 onwards, he was busy learning all about Fine Art Valuation at Southampton Solent University. While there, he was the President of the University Fencing Club, as well as a racer.
- He is also an Associate of the Society of Fine Art Auctioneers/Valuers (ASFAV).
Career, Job, Salary and Net Worth :
- Thomas first started off as a porter for Phillips Auctioneers.
- Over seven years of employment, he learnt enough to progress towards becoming the head of the Ceramic, Works of Art and Decorative department.
- Soon he also appeared on TV shows, such as Bargain Hunt, Flog it and The Antiques Road Trip.
- Thomas later took up a job with Tunbridge Wells in Kent and at Bexhill-on-Sea in East Sussex.
- Over the next three years, he enhanced his knowledge about jewellery and silver.
- Along with his friend, Neil Shuttleworth, Thomas went in for a phased takeover of Special Auction Services, in September 2006. Neil & Thomas became business partners.
- Currently, Thomas is the director and specialist for watches, fine art, jewellery, antiques and silver.

- Thomas’ reel life hero is Agent 007, otherwise known as James Bond!
- Today, he is an accomplished sabreur (a fencer who can fight with a sabre).
- Thomas also loves to ski. He adores the sight of fresh snow, a crisp and blue sky, peaked mountains and the first ski run!
- Working out, especially with Crossfit, is another passion!

Thomas Plant has changed his name to Thomas Forrester, which came as a surprise to many of his viewers. The leading theory for Thomas’s name change was that he married Jessica Forrester reputedly in 2018 and took her name. His spouse was previously listed as TV personality Angela Plant with whom he has twin daughters born 2009 according to the Oxford Mail article dated February 2010.The article at that time referred to Mr Plant, 35, having lived in Cowley, Berkshire with his wife, Angela, for four years and having 11-month-old twins.
Along with his friend, Neil Shuttleworth, Thomas went in for a phased take over of Special Auction Services in 2006 becoming business partners Thomas is now Director and Auctioneer. Given that so many enquirers were after a concrete answer, Special Auction Services rather unhelpfuly addressed the issue on December 14th, 2018.They tweeted: “Thomas has been Thomas Forrester for some time now so to avoid any further confusion he decided it was high time his details were updated. Of course, those of you who know him as Thomas Plant will always call him as such, for the avoidance of doubt he is. In fact, one and the same!”
Jessica and Thomas Forrester:
There has been no confirmation that the two are actually married, or even together. Jessica Forrester works for Special Auction Services as an auctioneer and auction manager. She also heads up the HR and staffing for the firm. Jessica has a master’s degree in arts Market Appraisal and is a Fellow of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers.

Me too. Anita Manning introduced Thomas Forrester and I said never heard of him and then it transpires that Thomas Forrester turns out to be Thomas Plant. Anita even named him Thomas Plant during her chat with the auctioneer! Has wee Thomas become a victim of actors guild naming rights or something.
