- Svante Fritz Vilhelm Thunberg was born on June 10, 1969, in Saltsjö-Boo, Sweden, to parents Olof Thunberg and Mona Andersson, who are also actors.

- In 2004, Svante married actress and opera singer Malena Ernman. He has since also been known as Svante Ernman Thunberg.
