Janowicz proposed to American-Australian actress Emilie de Ravin, the star of Lost and Roswell, on New Year’s Day 2003, in Melbourne. The couple got married on June 19, 2003. Although they legally married in 2003, they didn’t have their public marriage ceremony until 2006.

Emilie and Janowicz filed for divorce twice, once in 2007, where the files remained dormant for two years, and then again in 2009.
