Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education
- Gabrielle Balassone was born on February 17, 1989, in Westminster, Maryland.
- Gabrielle grew up in Carroll County, Maryland, within a farming community. Her father, John Balassone, frequently took her for walks in the woods when she was a child, which sparked a love for the outdoors. Her dad also introduced her to the wonders of nature, teaching her how to safely catch snakes and snapping turtles. She enthusiastically embraced these experiences and developed her own passion for the natural world.
- She attended the Winters Mill High School in Westminster, Maryland.
- In 2009, she relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, to attend the University of Baltimore. In 2013, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies, with a focus in psychology, business, and government policy.
- From 2014 to 2017, Gabrielle studied at the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she graduated cum-laude with Doctor of Law (Juris Doctor) degree.
- Gabrielle is married to Carlos Loera. The couple has three children, three sons named Marco, Roman and Tony. Her youngest baby, Marco was born in June 2021.

- Gabrielle took a gap year between graduating from her Bachelor’s degree and starting her law school studies. She spent this year traveling and staying in Australia.
- From February 2013 to August 2013, she worked as a deckhand on the ‘Rambler’ commercial fishing boat, which involved going out for a week at a time along Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. On these expeditions, Gabrielle was the only crew alongside the ship’s captain.
- From August 2013 to December 2013, she worked as an assistant bar manager at the Jardine Motel, located in the remote location of Thursday Island, Queensland. Besides other duties, Gabrielle was also in charge of training and recruiting staff.
- After returning to the States in 2015, Gabrielle worked as a law clerk at the John H. Denick & Associates law firm in Baltimore, Maryland, .
- She has since also worked as a bartender at the Johanssons Dining House in Westminster, Maryland.
- In August 2016, Gabrielle joined the cast of Naked and Afraid, where she spent an initial 14-days stint on the coast of West Africa. Though initially partnered up with a stranger, she was left to face the challenge on her own for the last nine days of shooting.
- In Autumn 2017, Gabrielle returned to Naked and Afraid, where she went through a challenge that lasted for 21 days in the Mississippi Bayou. She was once again left without a partner for most of the duration.
- Since Jul 2020 onwards, Gabrielle works as a General Counsel for a Defense Contractor. In this role, she manages over forty contract portfolios across DoD, IC, and FEDCIV sectors. Her responsibilities include negotiating terms and conditions, tracking and organizing agreements, advising on risk mitigation and compliance, and participating in proposal preparation and data call responses.
