- When Ben wanted to buy his own house, he found a tiny two-bedroom apartment with great views in Shepherd’s Bush. The flat was in the Grampians Art Deco palace with an old-fashioned cage lift, a porter, and a beautiful entrance. Though the apartment was tiny, Ben came up with the idea of making a bed-come-wardrobe-come-desk unit in the second bedroom. Ben purchased a house for £157,000 and stayed there and leased my spare room for a couple of years. After about six years staying there, Ben got married, and when they decided to start a family, the couple finally moved out.
