Angus served in the British Army’s Infantry from November 2003 to August 2011. During service; he was deployed to Iraq in 2005 and later to Afghanistan in 2009.

- As per an article in Yorkshire Post (July 25, 2013), Angus re-entered the antique business at the behest of his father after returning from Afghanistan. He decided to set up Ryedale Auctioneers on the edge of North York Moors (back in December 2010) and made his first sale the same month. The business boomed from there, going from strength to strength. As of July 2013, Angus owned three salesrooms and outdoor sales. He caters to both specialist events like sports and military as well as general sales.
- Since the last few years, Angus has also done some work as a TV presenter. In 2013, he joined the Cash in the Attic team. He also signed up for BBC’s Antiques Road Trip and has featured on the program many times from March 2018 onwards.

He disclosed that his business is doing good business from antique arms and militaria, especially the Mouseman and pistols type furniture. He designated vintage and early technology such as classic cars and computer games consoles as optimal investments. He advised collectors to shop around for the right deal instead of scouting for cheap ones.
- In the same interview, Angus described his dream artworks to buy if money was not an issue. His dream antique collectables include a volley gun, a Victoria Cross, cased pair of duelling pistols, a quality period suit of armour and a large pair of Blue John urns.

- Angus has sold many unusual items like pharmaceutical equipment and a full-size taxidermy white lioness. Pharmaceutical equipment included Bristol blue glass-made 19th-century condom moulds. The Science Museum bought a set of three from his auction.
- In an Instagram post (July 4, 2020), in his book review series, Angus praised a book on Georgian history, A Romp with the Georgians. He describes the book as a brilliant, fun, educational, easy read…and also enjoyable and suitable for all age groups.
- In 2020, Angus was working on a television series being produced by STV. The series was in its planning stages in 2019. Due to COVID-19, the production process slowed down.
