Introduction :

Sharmila was born in Mumbai as Sharmila Wagh (maiden name / name before marriage).

Her family included her parents – Father Mohan Wagh who was a well-known theatre actor, art director and producer & mother Padma Wagh. Mohan Wagh passed away in 2010.

Though not much active in politics, during the Maharashtra assembly elections in 2014, she addressed a few campaign speeches and also led a bike rally.

In 2015, she was bitten by her pet dog Bond. After the dog bite, she went through 65 stitches of surgery at the Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai.

She also attends inaugurations, event openings and Marathi film screenings regularly. She is referred to as Vahini amongst MNS supporters and party workers.
