Laura Rozen is a veteran journalist & Washington correspondent for innovative Arab-American news network Al-Monitor.
Career before Al-Monitor :
- Before Al-Monitor, Laura had the opportunity to work with WHYY-TV, based in Philadelphia.
- She was also involved in writing weekly for the newspaper ‘The Village Voice.’
- In 2002, she joined ‘The American Prospect’ in the capacity of a senior correspondent. The American Prospect was founded in 1990 and terms itself ‘liberal intelligence’ i.e. with an aim to advance liberal and progressive goals through reporting and analysis of daily news events. She gained valuable experience in Prospect but left in 2007 for another organization.
- Later, she was National Security correspondent for ‘The Washington Monthly.’

- In 2012, she joined Al-Monitor as a correspondent based in Washington and is still working with the organization.
- Al-Monitor is the brainchild of Arab-American entrepreneur Jamal Daniel, and was launched in February 2012. Its primary goal was to cater to its audience in the US & to provide more news related to Middle-East. Al-Monitor also incorporates the point of view of the Middle East countries through partnerships with several other news networks such as Al-Qabas, El-Khabar, Al-Masar, Calcalist, and several others.
- She is responsible for providing reliable and exhaustive coverage of American Foreign policy, most specifically related to Middle-East.
- She provides behind-the-scenes information on Al-Monitor’s Backchannel blog & has been a major source of information during America’s P5+1 talks with Iran and 6 major world powers.
- She also covered G-8 drama between USA and Russia in 2014.

- In 2017, she covered the tiff between Qatar & other Arab countries led by Saudi Arabia. Saudi led coalition has laid charges of supporting terrorist groups on Qatar and has canceled all air traffic to the country, which led to recent food drop by Iran to cover up the food shortage in Qatar.
- The only social media platform she is active on is Twitter (now called X) with over 120,000 followers.
- She permanently resides in Washington D.C., United States. Often jet back and forth to middle- east to cover important group meetings o countries and their seminars.
