- He is married to a woman named Colleen House, whom he met face to face in the late 1980s. John already knew about Colleen and had even written about her successful campaign to become the youngest female Michigan state representative. They soon clicked over their conservative values.

- In 1977, he then went on to Fairfield, Connecticut, where he graduated from Fairfield University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science.

- Immediately after graduating from university, Gizzi landed a job at the Travis County in Austin, Texas, where he was a clerk typist for the Tax Assessor.
- Soon after that, John began pursuing a career in journalism, which exposed him to the world of property tax along with various other issues concerning homestead exemption.
- In 1979, John became a part of the newspaper named Human Events which later evolved to become a popular online website.
- While working at Human Events, Gizzi became the author of his own segment titled “Gizzi on Politics,” in which he covered Congress politics. At the same time, he also launched a web series called “Gizzi’s America.”
- Throughout his long and illustrious career, John has appeared on various TV and radio programs. He has been featured across several networks including the likes of C-SPAN, BBC, Fox News and The American Radio News Network. He has also been a guest on international radio programs in both Germany and France.
- He has also covered financial news on the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in addition to building several key relationships with multiple international correspondents.
