- Born on May 19, 1959, to parents Patti and John Alksne, she was raised in Richmond, Virginia. Although her parents got divorced later, they remained good friends.
- After news of her son Ward’s death, in 2012, and a series of various health challenges that went on for almost two years, Cynthia’s mother eventually passed away from complications related to pulmonary hypertension in 2013.

First prominent person, whom I’ve heard my own opinion espoused as the main reason for police violence issues. Hiring is the key to effective law enforcement. It’s a mindset that cannot be trained away because the person is in law enforcement for the wrong reasons. Am a retired cop.
