- Blake Hounshell was an American journalist and a former Editor in Chief of Politico magazine. He had served as the managing editor of Foreign Policy magazine, and later as the overseer of the widely read “On Politics” newsletter at The New York Times. He passed away in Jan 2023 in Washington at the age of 44.

- Blake’s colleagues have praised his work ethic multiple times. Fellow journalist Susan Glasser has described him as a “nonstop ideas machine” for his creativity and first-rate execution.
- When he joined Politico, the editors quoted to the digital platform “AdWeek” in an interview that they expect Hounshell to “bring the relentless energy, creativity and elevated sensibility” he had brought to their news coverage before.
