- After working at the Legal Times for two years, she made the move to Washington, D.C. and became a staff writer for Roll Call, a newspaper dedicated to providing unbiased reporting on Washington’s politics.

- She also co-authors POLITICO’s new morning newsletter POLITICO Playbook, where she talks about the current laws going through Washington and any industry shifts that appear to be happening day-to-day.
- After taking over the Playbook with co-author Jake Sherman, Palmer and Sherman redesigned it to be more shareable, online-accessible and to send out “breaking news” alerts whenever it was necessary. Instead of focusing on the day-to-day news cycle like the previous authors had done, they began to focus on the 24/7 news cycle.
