- In 2016, Alexi was covering the presidential elections when she was an Associate Editor for Bustle. As she was standing in the press pit with the other journalists holding cameras and other equipment, President Donald Trump started walking past her. Alexi set her phone on record and asked Trump ‘How would you respond to the young women that are nervous about voting for you?’
- Trump grabbed her wrist and said, ‘Put that down!’ and pushed her hand down. Later, Alexi uploaded the incident onto her Twitter (now called X) page, and the video went viral.
- Back in 2019, Alexi had tweeted that NBA player/commentator Charles Barkley had said to her – “I don’t hit women, but if I did, I would hit you.” Charles later apologized for the statement, saying that it was a bad attempt at making a joke.
- In 2011, Alexi herself had made a few racist tweets directed primarily at the Asian community, making derogatory comments about Asian stereotypes. McCammond had apologized for the tweets in 2019 and deleted them. However, the screenshots of the tweets had also appeared everywhere on social media.

Yes, you are very intelligent. However, to truly be at the top of your game, you need some kind of SIGNATURE saying or delivery verbiage that separates you from the pack. Study Edward R. Murrow or Walter Cronkite’s verbiage and unique style. Make being a woman an asset. I like Leslie Stahl, Barbara Walters, etc because they have a signature style…I think you’ll be grand!
