- Sydney Abraham Rothbaum, also known as ‘Sid Roth’, is an American talk show host and author.
- Roth hosts the TV show, “It’s Supernatural,” where he takes viewers on a spiritual quest explaining to them the life of Jesus Christ and the effect of his miracles on real people, featuring real-life stories of people who underwent suffering.
Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :
- Sid Roth was born on September 7, 1940, in his hometown of Washington D.C. He grew up in a traditional Jewish home and has one younger sister.
- Both of his parents were Jews and Sid held both American and Israeli citizenship. His bar mitzvah was held at a traditional synagogue, which he attended and like most American Jews, he found organized religion did not have a place in his life in the beginning. He was proud of being Jewish but bored with the concept of religion.
- Sid got married to his wife Joy when he was 29 years old.
Career, Job, Salary and Net Worth :
- Roth’s goal in life was to become a millionaire by the age of 30. He started by selling life insurance after he lost $2600 to a friend who turned out to be a con artist.
- By the end of his first year selling life insurance, Sid wound up with sales worth almost a million dollars. He was doing so well that his wife quit the secretarial job that she hated and went back to school full-time to get her degree in interior design.
- He left the insurance outfit for another that his Uncle Abe showed him. He kept doing well and changing jobs constantly, but his own company that he had set up did not do well and had to be closed up.
- After the birth of his daughter, Leigh, Sid was offered a chance to work as an executive with Merrill, Lynch, Pierce, Fenner, and Smith, one of the finest investments companies in America. He accepted the job because he knew that his job-hopping practice is not stable enough to care for his new extended family.
New Life and Vision :
- Even after landing a well-respected job and having a loving family, Sid still felt like a failure because he wasn’t a millionaire and he wasn’t happy with his normal life anymore. So in 1972, he left his wife and daughter and went in search of something else that he would him.
- His search led him to Eastern meditation, the New Age, and all the different occult practices that a Jew isn’t supposed to believe in. The search that led him to all this was taxing on his mind led to a difficult life.
- A Christian businessman that he met challenged Sid that his Jewish Bible condemned these occult practices that Sid had placed his trust in. The businessman told him that Jesus was the Jewish Messiah and that Sid’s Orthodox Jewish upbringing had carefully hidden this from him.
- According to Sid, he had a “supernatural encounter with Jesus” which led him to boldly proclaim Jesus as the Jewish Messiah.
- Sid started a ministry called “Messianic Vision” in 1977 along with a national radio broadcast by the same name. Then Sid Roth started the TV show “It’s Supernatural!”, which helps viewers to find and know Jesus.
- Each week on “It’s Supernatural!” (Es Sobrenatural in Spanish), Sid investigates and reports on people who have experienced extraordinary healings, miracles, and personal encounters with God. At the end of each program, Sid talks about how everyone can have intimacy with God.

I knew Sid in the early 60s, and had a mutual best friend named Charles Goodman. Both were mysterious, and I wish I could see them again. The three of us tried to find ourselves.

His show Super Natural is highly addicting, I’m sure most viewers can relate to at least one of his episodes. He’s so smooth, easy going, and transparent. The testimonies on his show fuels my desire to want to experience a Godly supernatural experience!
The saddest part of these last days’ perilous times is that there are so many professing Christians with itching ears who have zero discernment when it comes to deceivers such as Sid Roth and countless others in the fraudulent charismatic movement. Today’s Christendom is mostly a conglomerate of sectarian 501c3 religious corporations, and if it isn’t bad enough that multitudes of Christians now believe that making “Christianity” a lucrative career choice, where the richer you become, the more evidence it is…that God is blessing you, then the endless excesses and outright deception of the charismatic movement, which has roots going back to Azusa Street, is certainly enough to give all the clarification we should need to understand why Jesus said: “WHEN THE SON OF MAN COMES SHALL HE FIND FAITH [“the faith once [for all time] delivered unto the saints (Jude 3)] UPON THE EARTH?”
The “churches” are places where countless people are entrapped in lukewarm (Rev. 3:16) religion, and there enslaved all the days of their lives. This is not the ekklesia that Jesus said He would build… and is building, but is very difficult to find among all of the devil’s counterfeits.
Sid Roth is a fraudulent man!
I pray that you will find the true Jesus, and come to know the true life. Life without Jesus is not a satisfying life.
I’ve known Sid personally since 1983 and noticed that he has not been MCing his show in recent weeks. I hope he is all right.

We must be grounded in truth…Some of Sid’s stuff is so strange. I would stick to my Bible if we confess our sins. If we forgive he will forgive us. Receiving healing through television…I do not believe in it. It is through faith and perseverance that you receive the promise! There are gifts of miraculous healing.
Love his show and it’s been such a blessing. Sid is such an inspiration. He must be nice to do something as special like this for Jesus. I hope Sid lives to be very old. I looked this up because he dresses young and could not tell if he is really young or older…haha! Well, I guess he is 81…I would have never guessed he’s that old I thought maybe 60. Beautiful story of prayers being answered true faith. When we hand it all over to Jesus. I’m praying now for a few miracles and also praying Really want to go to the Devine. I have been watching”It’s Supernatural” for many years, as well as listening on radio, and youtube. I have been greatly blessed and my faith has grown. When I get to heaven I hope to see and hear how each person came to know Jesus. His ways are without limit. I was led to pray for a concert ticket to see N eil Diamond in St. Louis, MO…Twenty one days later, less than twenty four hours before the concert, I held in my hand three tickets. While I was there I sensed Jesus sitting behind me with His arms around my shoulders, He said, ‘This is what happens when you learn to trust Me’. That was nearly forty three years ago. I watched my husband Mike die in the peace of Jesus through pancreatic cancer 15 years ago. Our children saw his courage. They are born again also, and in progress. Jesus turned my sad and depressing life into the most exciting life as He gave me words of praise to write. I opened a woman’s daily radio Christian program once a week for eight years by reading one of my writings. What a privilege it is to love Jesus and live for Him!
