Personal Life : Parents, Family and Education
- The German born Sabine Kehm was born on December 3, 1964.
- She grew up in Bad Neustadt an der Saale, a town in northern Bavaria, Germany.
- Education : She first studied sports, getting a diploma as an instructor, and then completed the Axel Springer School of journalists in Berlin.
Professional Life before Michael Schumacher :
- After her studies, Kehm initially worked in the sports section of “Die Tageszeitung Die Welt,” a German regional daily newspaper & then moved on to the magazine ‘Sports.’
- This was followed by a position as sports editor of the “Süddeutsche Zeitung,” another daily newspaper.
- While at the Süddeutsche Zeitung, she made contact with Michael Schumacher & his former manager Willi Weber several times for interviews.
- They had a good rapport, and Weber remembered this. In 1999, he called Kehm and told her that he was looking for a press officer and media consultant for the world champion & she gladly accepted.
Work with Michael Schumacher : Success in Sports Journalism :
- Sabine Kehm narrated Michael’s story through a book called “Michael Schumacher: Driving Force”.
- Michael had never been a very public person, so the book was truly a rare opportunity to have a first-hand account of his family, his professional success, his opinions on the state of Formula One, his interactions with the other drivers & his Ferrari experience.
- After Schumacher’s retirement from Formula 1 in 2006, she worked as a communications officer for Ferrari for Central and Eastern Europe.
- In 2010, Kehm took over the management of Michael Schumacher while his former manager focused on merchandising. She now manages Michael’s son Mick Schumacher who started racing.
- Kehm grew increasingly close to Schumacher’s family over the years & gained the trust and admiration of his wife Corinna. Her role grew to be more than just manager of Schumacher the ‘driver,’ as she looked after the entire family.
Reporting on Michael’s Injury :
- In 2013, Schumacher suffered catastrophic brain damage after crashing and smashing his head while skiing in the Meribel ski resort of in France.
- He hit the right side of his head on a rock, cracking his helmet. Doctors operated to remove blood clots from his brain, but some were left because they were too deeply embedded.
- Details of his condition have been scarce since and Kehm has categorically stated that neither his family nor his team will release any updates on his health.
- She has acted as a manager and fierce defender of the rights of the family and is protecting their privacy as much as she can, telling media that Schumacher has always consistently drawn a clear line between the public & his private life.
- There has truly been no concrete update on Schumacher’s health even after all these years. However, when there was a false report released on the degree of his improvement, Kehm was forced to speak out and had the unpleasant job of reporting that Schumacher was unable to move at all.

heute lese ich vom Besuch von Erzbischof Gänswein bei Michael Schuhmacher. Als ich über diesen Besuch nachdachte, kam ein ziemlicher Zorn in mir auf. Warum kann ein Erzbischof außer einem Kreuz auf der Stirn nichts weiter tun? Fast gleichzeitig kam auch die Antwort: Weil die meisten Repräsentanten unseren großen Gottes nur kraftlose Papiertiger sind! Dies gilt für den Erzbischof ebenso wie für die Hauptrepräsentanten unserer Landeskirchen.
Liebe Frau Kehm, ich schreibe Ihnen bzw. Herrn Schuhmacher, weil nur unser großer Gott ihm noch helfen kann. Rufen Sie doch einmal vollmächtige Beter an das Krankenbett. Vollmächtige Repräsentanten eines großen Gottes. Männer oder Frauen Gottes, die in der Vollmacht Gottes, dem Teufel wieder das Leben von Herrn Schuhmacher entreißen.
Ich denke, Herr Schuhmacher hat irgendwann (wissentlich oder unwissentlich) einmal in seiner Karriere einen Pakt mit den Teufel gemacht. Nach Ende der Karriere hat nun der Teufel seine Rechnung für den Pakt präsentiert. Ich mache hier keine Vorwürfe oder sonstwas. Ich glaube aber, dass unser Erlöser Jesus auch dafür am Kreuz gestorben ist und auch dafür bezahlt hat. Nur müssen wir dieses Erlösungswerk auch annehmen.
Da auch ich nichts über den Gesundheitszustand von Herrn Schuhmacher weiß, weiß ich natürlich auch nicht, ob er in der Lage ist, das Erlösungswerk Christi´s willentlich annehmen kann. Darum nochmal, laden Sie als seine Managerin, vollmächtige Repräsentanten ans Krankenbett ein.
