Munya Chawawa credits himself as a creator and comedian on LinkedIn.
He creates sketches, often comic in nature, for his one million+ followers. The sketches were viewed over 30 million times in 2020 alone. Through his work, Munya proclaims that he wants to break the mould of being from an elitist background.

Munya developed the knack to be in front of the camera by shooting videos of himself at home and sending them to his grandparents. His friends had always disapproved of him for laughing at his own jokes, but his belief in his own sense of humour stood strong, and the results are for everyone to see.

Munya was born in Derby, England, on 29th December 1992. However, he was brought up in Zimbabwe. Munya spent an equal amount of his childhood and youth in both Zimbabwe and a place close to Norwich, in Norfolk, a village called Framingham Pigot.

Despite his current work in comedy, Munya interestingly has a degree in Psychology which he pursued at the University of Sheffield (graduating 1st class Honours). He was attracted to Sheffield by its mixture of creativity and comfort.
While studying, he was a University of Sheffield’s student radio and TV stations. He also played in the all-star Sheffield Sabres American Football Club.
During his Sheffield graduation in 2014, Munya filmed his whole graduation day using Google Glass and became the first student in the UK to wear this Google product, which instantly propelled him to online fame. The video was so popular that it moved many to tears, and many played it on loop, giving Munya a deep sense of fulfilment.
