Wiki Bio / Profile Background
Introduction :
- On July 19, 2018, a man fatally shot another man in the parking lot of a convenience store and murdered him.
- The murderer was a white man named Michael Drejka. He had fatally shot and killed 28-year-old Markeis Deon McGlockton, who had been to the convenience store with his girlfriend, Britany Jacobs. Michael was recorded stating that he had shot the 28-year-old in self-defense.
- One of the details placed on record was Michael had another skirmish with a guy named Richard Kelly over the same handicap parking spot.
- The reason Kelly says was Michael had a personal obsession with handicap violations because his own mother-in-law and a deceased high school girlfriend were both handicapped.
- However, Michael himself had numerous driving-related violations. He even had a road rage-related case filed where the authorities blamed him for brandishing a handgun on a couple of teenagers. He was earlier let go because of Florida’s stand your ground law.

Michael Drejka has been given 20 years to do some reflections on the many wrongs he has done. The girlfriend and the children will be doing some reflections on this incident. The outcome of those reflections is likely to generate bitterness, grief, and pain. More black and white people will seek licenses to carry guns to protect themselves. As long as hate and selfishness bear rule in our hearts, we will witness more crimes. Only hearts transformed by Christ can change the wretchedness of our human predicament.
I must say I think Michael Drejka entirely brought this cross upon himself. (Oh Ye of little faith Matthew 8:26). He did not believe the truth would come out and be seen so clearly too. My sympathies entirely lie with the victim Markeis Deon McGlockton’s family. May God protect, bless and help you all. You are excellent Christian soldiers of your community. May Peace and Love be with you all always.
Drejka carried concealed, and I can guarantee you that he had fantasized about being a hero and shooting a “bad” guy for a long time. In the motorcycle club that I have ridden with on numerous occasions, I’ve heard lots of comments regarding the Drejka crime, using a handgun against an attack that was not deadly.
Drejka was pushed down, after which McGlockton DID NOT move toward him in any way. McGlockton stood his ground, perhaps 5 or 6 yards away. Drejka made very practiced moves, even as he hit the ground. He rolled back, facing McGlockton holding the handgun in what only could be a practiced, two-hand hold, and with NO WARNING, fired a single shot, centering McGlockton’s chest with the single round that killed him. Anyone familiar with handguns knows that it takes a lot of practice to hit accurately with such a short-barreled handgun, anything beyond six feet. Even then, one has to be practiced.
Drejka had had other run-ins, and I know by speaking to many gun sportspeople who carry concealed that Drejka was ready to use deadly force and that he hoped he would be able to run into a situation where he’d be able to use his handgun with deadly force. If Drejka is not murdered in prison, he will return to his family one day. McGlockton does not have a chance to do that. People who carry need to think very hard about that before they pull in the case of anything other than fending off a deadly attack. Pushing someone to the ground is not fatal, and McGlockton showed no signs of doing anything else in that affair. Very sad.
