- She is one of three daughters of the 9th Earl of Spencer, Charles Spencer and his former wife, Victoria Lockwood. Charles and Victoria filed for divorce after years of his cheating ways and her addiction to drugs finally caught up to them and causing the union to crumble.
- Her siblings are Lady Eliza Spencer who is her twin sister, Lady Kitty and Louis, Viscount Althorp. Her grandparents are John Lockwood, John Spencer, Frances Shand Kydd and Jean Holt.
- She is the niece of the late Princess Diana.
- Amelia is currently in a long-term relationship with a South African professional surfer and water polo instructor called Greg Mallett. His nickname is “Grizzle” and he often attends family dinners alongside his girlfriend.

- It is no secret that Lady Amelia & her siblings had a very different upbringing from that of their parents, who were often stuck in public schools and stately, unhappy homes. This is thanks to their parents choosing to relocate to South Africa in a bid to start afresh and let go of their marital troubles (which did not work at all).
- The family relocated to Constantia which is an affluent suburb in Cape Town, South Africa in 1995 and the children attended some of the very best private institutions in the country.
- The move was an attempt to get away from media scrutiny but, between Charles’ numerous affairs and Victoria’s drug addictions and eating disorders, their blissful escape soon became a living nightmare. Charles eventually return to the UK and the children stayed in South Africa with Victoria.
- The Spencer children are known for living very lavish lifestyles, despite their father insisting he raised them to be humble. From St Tropez to private islands in Australia, the list of luxurious destinations the sisters have been photographed at is quite endless.
Interesting Facts, Height and Trivia :
- In 2011, Amelia was briefly arrested for the alleged assault of a passenger who was walking with crutches at McDonald’s in Cape Town, South Africa. The assault charges were later dropped & she was allowed to fly to the UK just in time for her cousin, Prince William’s wedding to Kate Middleton.
- She is quite close to Prince Harry and he makes a point of visiting her and her family whenever he travels to South Africa. The royal family also makes a point of attending special events at the Spencer’s home in England.
