  1. Kurt:

You live in El Segundo? I live in West Torrance. Honk when you see me. Cheers!

    Reading “Overlord” right now …

  2. Kurt, you are a Small Government Conservative…why do you have a BIG GOVERNMENT PENSION???

Seem to be a LOT of “Small Government” Republicans (Wendy Williams, etc) who have BIG GOVERNMENT Pensions and are looking for MORE! Get the Federal and then dive into the State Pension system. Having a Government pension is fine but blathering on about SMALL GOVERNMENT at the same time makes you a Pension Patriot. It’s beyond simple hypocrisy!

I have large issues with Nick Freitas but I give him credit because he left the military before the pension threshold. People want Citizen Soldiers, not a professional pension class.

  3. Mr. Schlichter,

I had to chuckle at your recent article in Townhall where you spoke on assault weapons. I am old school Army guy where there were “battle rifles” that dwarf today’s “assault weapons.” They are heavy and ungainly but oh so yummy when the chips are down or when dense jungles needed penetrating. My concept of an assault weapon is a slingshot, or bow and arrow. Devastating. I recall Condi Rice relating that the KKK did not bother her folks as they knew they were armed. We are the only free country in the world as we are free to own firearms.

    Thanks

  4. Sir, enjoyed your article “Our Military Is A Woke Joke”. Most definitely is a problem with a lack of leadership at the top. The second and third-order effects of LGBTQ issues in the military. The mandatory training for “extremism”. I do think our SOF Units and some others are not quite as affected by the “Woke mentality”, however, we have seen that the CJCS has succumbed to this dreadful disease.

  5. Hello Colonel Schlichter,

Let me first start by saying HOOAH! You are a breath of fresh air and I could listen to you all day (unlike some of my former C.O.s) Nice combo of information, facts & levity. You should run for President someday!

Love you, Colonel. Godspeed & best wishes to you & your family.

I am a Vietnam vet who served in the USMC for seven and a half years during the 1970s. For two and a half years now I’ve been attempting to obtain a copy of my DD-214 from the National Archives but to no avail. I’ve been told by the VA and various veterans groups that the National Archives is the only agency/place a veteran can obtain a copy of his DD-214. Yet it will not provide me mine, although during one of my applications to them they emailed me and said they would be mailing it to me. That was a year ago. I’ve applied again and again, but still to no avail. And they are inaccessible and uncontactable via their website, i.e., you can’t call them nor email, or personally write them. As a fellow veteran and conservative, is there any way you can help me get my DD-214? I remain dead in the water here with no vet benefits or VA hospital without it.

  7. Kurt,

I have a friend in need of a good lawyer seeking redress from the Veterans Administration with your chops but all your links are listed as unsecured.

  8. Kurt, I dig your bold style. I’m retired and live in Palm Desert. Let me know if I can volunteer and help you.

    Sincerely,
