Initially, Frances had little clue as to which area of art was she really interested in.
She had studied History of Art at the Trinity College, University of Cambridge.

She followed that degree up with studying at the Courtauld Institute in London. Here she earned a Master of Arts degree in 20th-century British and French Art, continuing on her path to becoming an expert in modern art.
Frances is married to her husband, Robert Leeming.
She lived in Scotland for a while when she wasn’t studying in Cambridge or London but now resides permanently in London. In London, she also works for prestigious auction house Sotheby’s.

She was then offered an internship at Sotheby’s after writing a letter to the Edinburgh office, which was then passed on to the headquarters in London. She then spent the rest of her summers at university working on internships at other auction houses.

Frances is also a trustee on the board of Outside In, the principal arts charity in the United Kingdom.
