  1. I am a 100% disabled Vietnam veteran 6″5″ 243 lbs …I have lost 60 lbs since a year ago janurary. problem is I don’t have a lot of mobility because of my legs. I want to get down to 210 Lbs which is doable for me. I have had 3 episodes of IBS/partial blocked small intestines which required hospitalization. what is happening now is I only have a BM every 3 days, it is a strain to go. any suggestions?

ps I have a upper and lower GI scheduled in a week to see whats going on. My BP is usually 120/60 I had a total knee replacement in 09 and got blood clots that hit both lungs and while in the hospital had a heart attack so I am trying to get healthy but my weight is my concern right now.

  2. Dr Ken Berry,

I admire you and your wife for being so helpful. I have had an AV Node ablation to help with my afib, but am told to NOT do keto, but I need to ask you for your opinion. I’m 71 and pretty healthy other than the basic ailments and over weight by 100lbs. Thank you.

    Dear Dr. Berry,

My husband and I discovered your YouTube Channel in 2019 just before the pandemic. We were both overweight and my husband was told he has prediabetes. He had all the symptoms of diabetes including peripheral neuropathy to the point that he had no feeling in his hands and feet. We started on the keto plan and lost 30 pounds each. Eventually, his feeling came back in his hands and feet. His A1c was 6.6. After three years of off-and-on keto and now keto vore, we are feeling great with good energy. Last week my husband’s A1c was down to 6.1. Mine is 5.7. I am 83 years old and my husband is 84. We have a small farm with 22 chickens that we take care of daily in all kinds of weather. We live in Maine. So if anyone asks if keto is dangerous for elderly people, tell them our story. Thank you for all your research and work.

    Sincerely,
    Jan

  4. I watch your YouTube videos often. I live in Central Missouri. My physician of 40 years passed away from Covid-19 last year. He was a dear friend as well as the doc who cared for 3 generations of my family. I am a 73-year-old retired teacher who is obese. I have recently begun keto, emphasizing more meat. I feel so much better! My chiropractor, also like family, says he is sure I am insulin resistant. However, he can’t order labs. I don’t have a dog and don’t know where to start looking. I live 30 miles from the University of MO school of medicine, but doubt I can even find one that would be keto-friendly. How do I search?

    1. Linda, that’s a good question! My husband and I will be retiring back to Missouri at the end of this year, if not before. We will have to find new doctors and I’ve been looking. Lots of choices here in San Diego, but not so much in Mid-Mo.

However, I think I’m going to try to get us in with Dr. Link in Jefferson City. He is so much less mainstream medicine-minded than most in the area, from what I’ve heard. You might check with his office to see if he is currently taking patients. I need to go ahead and try to get on his books for us too. Otherwise, I do know of probably two great options in St. Louis, but that’s a significant drive that doesn’t work for everyone. Good luck!

    2. Linda,

I live in Columbia MO. I was a patient of Dr. M Christopher Link in Jefferson City MO 12 years ago. If he does not accept new patients, I’ll bet his daughter does, who is now a physician in his office. He used to be an ER doctor (about 14 years ago?) and quit the mainstream medical field to train in Eastern Medicine and learn Acupuncture. He believes the same way Dr Berry does.

    3. Linda,

You can order your own labs through OwnYourLabs and they are all very reasonably priced. Go on the website and select the labs you want done. In my area they use to Quest Clinic to perform the blood draw—the same one my primary care doctor uses.

  5. Wow, there is no way you can work with all the people who want your help! Keep those videos coming that cover as many issues as you can definitively define!

I am a 77-year-old woman, shrunk down to 5’2 3/4″ from 5’5″, and now weigh about 167 lbs. I follow a close-to but not the absolute zero-carb way of eating. Perhaps it’s because I also like wine and drink it often, I’m not losing weight. My hba1c decreased from 7.9 to 6.6 but my BP has if anything increased. I’ve taken to heart that what works for one does not work for all, thus I’m searching for what will work for me. I want very much to become reacquainted with my feet and gain relief from so many things reportedly cured by a carnivore diet. Thus far, those have eluded me.

Realizing that you have ‘way more prospective patients than time, I just await more videos and information. And I also monitor Dr. Jason Fung and others who seem to have had success with diabetes type 2 if not cured then seeming reversal. I’m sure I speak for others also to thank you for your time and education efforts!

  6. Dr. Berry,

I have been a subscriber of your YouTube channel for several months now. As a family physician and man on a mission to squelch type 2 diabetes, obesity and mental health issues, I am very interested in your opinion of how closely a person with bi-lateral Menieres Disease should follow your Carnivore diet advice. I am assuming people with different ailments have to consider their personal situation and use your advice accordingly. I completely lost my hearing to Meniers Disease and have 2 cochlear implants now. I also have severe tinnitus in both ears and am on triamterene to regulate water retention in my inner ears. I’m also a pre-diabetic and more overweight than I care to say. Following your carnivore diet, I quickly lost 20 pounds. And, I salted my food to taste with “Real Salt”, forgetting my ENT’s advice to limit salt. My Tinnitus has increased and of course it has. My fault. But as I said, I’d love to hear any advice or opinion you might have, where I can follow your diet as closely as possible, considering my having Menieres Disease.

    Thank you.

  7. Dear Dr. Barry,

I am a type 2 diabetic just prescribed glipizide 5mg from metformin a few weeks ago. I am not overweight @ 5’4”/125 lbs. However, my a1c is 11 for the last 2 three month tests and my glucose meter is in the high 200s to 300. I don’t eat much and seldom ever eat sweets. I do love carbs over meat but just changed into the foods you speak about. 2 eggs at 8 a.m., canned tuna afternoon, and pork medallion, meatball, or light fish @ dinner. and some veggies…as soon as I eat anything my blood sugar soars. I drink a sufficient amount of water each day. I don’t want to go on insulin. My GP is not really interested and is mainly just a source for referrals. I look like I am in my 50s and not out of shape, even though I exercise. Is there still hope for me to get well? I am 77 years old.

  8. Dr. Berry,

I just wrote you a message and was not finished, but it just got wiped out completely! We have emailed our lab reports to you to just advise us. We are doing keto now and have joined your Proteon Tribe, but could not get on to ask questions. We are not good computer people.

There are no doctors here, where we live. It is a very small community with only nurse practitioners. We realize you are very busy. After listening to your video on Hashimoto’s disease, I believe I have that. I’m experiencing 22 uncommon symptoms very badly. I had a rare autoimmune disease from 1985 to 1994. They told me there was no cure…maybe this has continued all these years! Please answer our email, we would be very grateful. Wish we weren’t so far away.

    Thanks,
    Lena Fore.

  9. I have been trying to locate cardiologists in the Chicago area who are not crazy about prescribing statins but with no success. Do you know of anyone?

  10. Dr. Berry,

I live in Franklin TN, and was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes 20 years ago. Last July, after watching you and other LCHF docs on YouTube. I started eating LCHF, tending toward carnivore. My A1c dropped from 8 on 4 diabetes meds, to 5.6 on only a lower dose of metformin. Unbelievably, my docs are not supportive and are not interested in education. Can you recommend an LC-supportive GP in the Nashville area who accepts Medicare?

    Thanks,
    Linley.

    1. Keep in mind, this doctor is famous for his social media, where anyone can say anything. The evidence is all anecdotal. Everyone who loses weight and exercises also has improved results…on any diet that eliminates processed foods. I absolutely hate the idea of only eating meat and fat. Yuk! I can’t believe any doctor that eliminates all the nutrients and fiber and antioxidants in vegetables and fruit.

      1. Diana, have you listened to any of Dr. Berry’s YouTube videos where he discusses his Proper Human Diet and why we should eat that way? There is a spectrum on the PHD which ranges from 100 carbs, 20 carbs, 10 carbs and 0 carbs. You can choose any one, LC, Keto, Ketovore and Carnivore. All but Carnivore allow some veggies, but primarily the way of eating “WOE” cuts out sugar, all grains, seed oils, processed foods and corn. All those foods are either inflammatory or cause blood sugar to spike. I try to eat 10 carbs or less a day, and all my bloodwork has improved! Cholesterol down from 245 to 122, A1C from 6.1 to 5.6 and many others have improved. I feel better than I have in years and I am 77. One of his metabolic coaches has a saying that I love – “Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels”. To that I say, Amen. Good luck.

  11. Hello Dr. Berry,

I am a 65 yr old, retired bedside RN, prediabetic, obese, fatty liver, etc woman. Since the 1st week of Dec 2021, I have now lost 18 lbs on your recommended keto diet. Eating high fat/protein, low carb goes against everything I was ever taught as a cardiac nurse. I felt so guilty eating all the fat until the pounds started coming off! It’s still weird to me to consume pork skin! Thank you for all your informative videos and tips.

  12. Dr. Ken,

I would love love love to be your new patient. I so badly need to be your patient after I’ve done marathon-watching your videos. Google still says you practice in the clinic that burned down. I gave tried Google search to try and find you!! I am a type 2 diabetic, overweight, and take blood pressure medicine. Even been properly diagnosed. I live close enough to drive to you if you are still in the Camden area. I would appreciate somebody to let me know. Thank you so much!

  13. Good day Dr Berry,

Thank you for your health advice on YouTube. Have you ever provided advice regarding Atrial Fibrillation? If so could you send me the link? I am almost 75 and have lived a very healthy and sporting life. AF has shattered me and I wish I could do something to reverse it.

    Kind Regards,
    Ray Johnston
    Sydney, Australia.

  14. Dear Dr. Barry,

I hope all is well with you and your family.

My husband has serious metabolic syndrome. He goes to the V.A. But has no real support.

We’re on Keto. Well, off and on. I had lost 30lbs, but of course, gained it all back after the holidays nit getting back on track.

I am back on and feel amazing. My hubby is too. But cannot seem to get rid of his belly. He’s a marriage coach, so that’s stressful. We walk a couple of miles a day and drinks plenty of water.

    We need help. Can you?
