- Dr. Darria Long was born in 1979 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, to parents H. Nelson Long III (father) and Saphura Safavi Long (mother).

- After graduating from high school, Darria attended the University of Rochester in New York from 2000 to 2006, graduating with a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Government, and following that with a Doctor of Medicine degree (MD).
