Masika was born on 7th June 1985 with the real name of Masika Tucker.
She has one brother and one sister, and was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois.

Masika Kalysha Model and Early Career :

Masika began receiving modelling offers from the age of 13, but her father would not let her act on them until she was 16.
Once she began receiving consistent modelling offers, she made the decision to use the name Masika Kalasha for her work, as she said that at the time the new name made her feel exotic.

Her success from modelling led to her being cast in numerous music videos in the rap industry.
She has said her favorite rappers to work with were Waka Flocka, Lil Wayne and Birdman.
From the music videos, she then went into acting. She has appeared in the movies Prey and Three Can Play That Game.

Reality TV Career :

Masika has also appeared on the Playboy scripted series 7 Lives Exposed.
Later, she was invited to appear on the television show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood as a supporting cast member in its first season.

This was due to her being in a relationship with lead cast member Mally Mal, who was also in a relationship at the same time with Nikki Mudarris. His second relationship with Nikki was unknown to Masika at the time and became a major storyline.
After not appearing in season two of the show, she returned in season three as a main cast member.
She appeared in the fourth season, and it is believed that her co-parenting with Fetty Wap will be a main focus of that season. It aired in July 2017.

Masika’s daughter Khari Barbie Maxwell was born in early 2016 after Masika had faced a public paternity battle when Khari’s father denied being the child’s dad.
When she first announced the pregnancy, the father Fetty Wap claimed he was not the father, and that she needed to stop claiming that he was until they had a paternity test.

However, by the time of the baby’s birth, he had claimed the child.
In March 2017, Masika was accused of child neglect after it was revealed she had taken her daughter to the hospital, claiming that the baby had swallowed a Xanax while playing with a friend’s handbag.
After she reportedly refused to let her daughter stay in overnight, the hospital called Child Services and filed a complaint against her.
