- She is known as the daughter of the late Royal Air pilot and flight lieutenant Peter Woolridge Townsend.

- Isabelle is the daughter of parents – Peter Townsend (father) and Marie-Luce Jamagne (mother).
- Her father, Peter Townsend, who was a late “Battle of Britain” fighter, once became the talk of the town when he was romantically involved with Princess Margaret, the sister of Queen Elizabeth II.
- Peter was forced by the British government to end his budding romantic affair with Princess Margaret. During that time, he was working as the Queen’s equerry.
- Her father was believed to have married Isabelle’s mother, who was a beautiful Belgian girl, after his romance with Princess Margaret ended.
