- Alessandro is very attached to the region he grew up in, Emilia Romagna. He bought a farmhouse there and fully restored it, but only a short time after he moved there, in 2012, the house was lost along with many others to a powerful earthquake that devastated the region.
- Alessandro was extremely upset by this loss, but it also led to the change of look that made him break out into the fashion world in his forties: his moustache and beard.
