Claude Tex McIver, a partner at one of the city’s most prestigious law firms, a Republican loyalist whose money and privilege protected him throughout life. Tex’s life was blown away when he was accused of murdering his wife, the businesswoman Diane McIver.

The McIver case is extremely murky as it goes. Tex was traveling with his wife on the evening of September 25, 2016.
The couple was coming back home from dinner along with Diane’s friend Dani Jo Carter. As the locality was rough, Tex asked for the loaded pistol, which went off in his hands, fatally shooting Diane.
He was appointed to the state’s election board and served on the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Gun Violence.

He has been accused of calling up a judge’s ex-wife seeking to influence the proceedings of the case.
Another serious accusation against him was that he made demands of his PR guy to offer a bribe to Paul Howard, the District Attorney of Fulton County.
News claimed that at the time of death, Tex owed his wife $350,000.
