- Seema’s career in law began in January of 1998 when she worked at the Bronx County DA’s office as an Assistant District Attorney. She mainly focused on prosecuting felony and misdemeanor criminal cases.
- In August of 2000, she joined USA Broadcasting Inc. and spent almost one year working as their Manager of Legal Affairs. After leaving the company, she became a Sole Legal Practitioner and opened her own office called The Law Office of Seema Iyer. The firm is based in New York and has been operating for close to two decades.
- Iyer has also worked for the NYPD as a Legal Representative for lieutenants, police officers, and detectives.
- As a legal practitioner, Seema has lent her services to various media platforms in radio and TV and has appeared as a TV legal commentator and analyst across multiple networks such as CNN, MSNBC, Fox, NBC and HLN.
- During the period of 2012 and 2013, she worked for Arise News as a producer and legal contributor.
