David was born in Miami, Florida. Currently, he resides in Austin, Texas.
Growing up, Komie attended Coral Springs High in Coral Springs.
He then went on to study his Bachelor’s at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Ratón, Florida. He attended the university on a tennis scholarship, and studied criminal justice.

He went on to study at the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia. He was there from 1986 to 1989, and graduated as a Doctor of Law (Juris Doctor).
David is married to Maria Komie. Together they have two children – a son and a daughter.

David has been playing music for over forty years, having been inspired by a Van Halen concert that he attended in 1978 at the Hollywood Sportatorium in Pembrok Pines, Florida.
He capitalises on his very much untraditional appearance for a lawyer, including it as part of his advertising campaigns.

David specializes in personal injury law and personal injury cases. He has been representing individuals against behemoth insurance companies. He also dabbles in real estate law.

Since 2011, he has been an attorney and partner at Komie & Morrow, LLP, together with Chris Morrow.
