Introduction :
Breaking all the stereotypes and charming the audience with just one movie is not a simple task. Tanya Abrol has done this and more with ease. Known for her first movie Chak De India, the actress made a grand debut with this Shahrukh Khan starrer in 2007.
Personal Life :
Born on 8th January 1986, Tanya Abrol is from Abohar, Punjab. Her family includes her parents – father and mother are Ramakrishan Abrol and Sarita Abrol, respectively. She is a graduate from the MCM DAV College for Women, in Chandigarh. She didn’t bother too much about playing a Punjabi girl in many of her roles. It is her strength after all.
Her favourite actress is Vidya Balan who has changed the way the movie industry look upon actresses. She herself is a game-changer. The size zero fads don’t affect her. She believes in giving what she got.
She was also happy about working in the CID team. The actress played the role of Haryana girl Jaywanti Shinde, who is a fan of Dayanand Shetty in the show. Like other characters in CID, she had action sequences in the show.
Career and Professional Life :
Tanya’s entry into acting was nothing short of a dream for any actress, a debut in an SRK movie. She got her first offer when she was in 3rd year of her graduation. Her role of Punjabi Jat hockey player won her hearts. The role worked to provide some comic relief in an intense sports-oriented film.
She wanted to join civil services after her graduation but the film opened new avenues for her. Even with a superstar instead of getting intimidated, she gave an epic performance as aggressive and bold Balbir Kaur. Her performance brought her many lucrative offers, but she focused on completing her graduation. Post-graduation, she finally decided to make her career in acting.
