Profile :
Sukmani Sadana is an actress who has made her own niche in television as well as the film industry.
Today she is an actress and writer well-known for her role in Sony Entertainment Television’s Khotey Sikkey and movies such as Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum (2012), Creature (2014) and Horror Story (2013).
Personal Life :
She was born in a small town of Amritsar, Punjab and did her schooling from Welham Girls School, Dehradun. After moving to Delhi for higher studies, she finally came to Mumbai to pursue her acting dream. She believed in trying at least once for what one desires even if it seems impossible.
She shared her experience of wanting to get into Welham Girls School, Dehradun where the session had already started but after sitting outside principal’s room and crying, she got the seat in place of a student who left because of homesickness.
Perhaps this never-give-up attitude is what which got her on top. Studying at Welham and LSR in Delhi gave her an unconventional outlook which wasn’t fit for melodramatic soap operas.
Career and Professional Life :
In Mumbai, she did a diploma in Advertising and Marketing from the Xavier Institute. This diploma became a turning point for her career as she became a scriptwriter. From here on, she carved her own path and went to work in experimental shows such as scripts for television shows such as MTV’s Tech Check and Wasp.
After writing a short film for reputed director Kunal Kohli she was also rumoured to be writing a full feature film-romantic comedy for him. Sadly, the movie hit the news for all the wrong reasons as Jyoti Kapoor, co-writer of Daawat-E-Ishq accused it of plagiarism.
Her recent projects such as a web series for Sony Live called #LoveBytes is based on a couple in a live-in relationship. The series has garnered quite a following. This doesn’t come as a surprise as the saas-bahu centred melodramatic soap operas are not her cup of tea.
Seems appealing…would like to connect with her for a Tamil project soon
