Maanvi Gagroo is an actress, best known for work in various Indian web series, primarily on TVF and GIrliyapa networks
Young Life, Parents and Family Details :
- Maanvi was born on 5 September 1985 in Delhi, India.
- She was born into quite traditional Indian family.
- She grew up studying dance. From the age of 4 to 12, she studied Kathak but then moved onto study Jazz as she said that was the trendy thing at the time.
- In high school, she was elected by her teachers to the Honesty Club. This was a club in the school that was made to encourage students to present honourable qualities.
- She graduated from high school in 2004, and has said her favourite subject was biology.
Early Career, Ads and Movies :
- Maanvi first came to international attention for her acting skills after portraying a crazed fan in the 2008 movie ‘The Cheetah Girls: One World’
- In 2007, her dancing skills from her youth thrust her into acting, after she was cast in a Disney India series about an all-girl school band.
- She played Ambika Gill, a tambourine playing Bollywood fan, and at the time was considered an excellent role model for the young girls of India.
- After her role in The Cheetah Girls, she had a break from acting, before returning in 2010 in local theatre work.
Second Phase :
- Maavi gave a critically acclaimed performance in the movie ‘No One Killed Jessica’ in 2011, which premiered in at the Cannes Film Festival.
- She soon went on to star in the male-dominated web series TVF Pitchers, and then its subsequent spin-off TVF’s Tripling. Her performance was praised by critics and described as surprisingly powerful.
- When her TVF boss Arunabh Kumar was accused of sexual harassment in 2015, she came to his defense and stated he was her professional big brother, and not capable of what the girls were suggesting.
Maanvi Gagroo, Height and Interesting Facts :
- Maanvi took a break from acting in 2008, despite receiving multiple offers for TV & film. She has said she took the break, as she was annoyed that all the roles she was offered appeared to be for the same character: a loud, happy bimbo.
- During her break, she attended the Gargi College and graduated from there in 2012 with a degree in Psychology.
- Multilingual personality, she speaks English, Hindi and Kashmiri, and is learning Bengali.
- Appearing on Instagram and Twitter (now called X) under the handle of @maanvigagroo, as of 2017 she has 70,000+ Instagram followers and 12,000+ Twitter (now called X) followers.
