Introduction :
Kuljeet Randhawa, the former Gladrags model was known for her portrayal of bold and strong women-centric characters. She was best known for her work in TV series C.A.T.S., Special Squad and Kohinoor series.
Personal Life :
Born on 1st January 1976 in Raniganj, West Bengal. She had to switch schools due to the nature of her father’s job in the Indian police. She started her modelling career at a very young age when she was in school and did assignments with several major designers.
Major brands advertisements in which she appeared include Electrolux, Savalon Soap, Maruti, Recova and several others.
Education :
For her education, she completed her 12th Standard from Delhi public school and for her further education, earned honors in Psychology from Delhi University.
Early Career :
Before entering the small screen, Kuljeet had walked the ramp for two years. Kuljeet got her first break on TV with the popular serial ‘Hip Hip Hurray.’ The story is based on the lives of 12th grade students at the DeNobili High School and their adventures, their fears & hopes, and their relationships and interactions.
Besides that, the story also focused on issues pertinent for the younger generation such as dating, drugs, careers, health and causes, in a light-hearted manner. She played Prishita, earlier which was played by actress Shweta Salve.
CATS TV Show :
C.A.T.S was an Indian show, which was a remake of the female-centric American action film Charlie’s Angels. She played Ash – one of the three lead characters in the show. The C.A.T.S are three glamorous crime detectives – Tanya, Kareena and Amrita who are a part of a C.A.T.S. Detective Agency.
They investigate everything from, missing people, crimes, murder plots, extortion to con jobs. These three women have a bumbling nervous sidekick called Bhosle (Kunal Vijayakar). Bhosale looks after the office while the girls chase the action. The C.A.T.S work for a stylish mysterious millionaire, Charlie, who remains behind the scenes -, in fact, even the C.A.T.S have not seen him.
But Charlie is a methodical mastermind who selects the cases for the C.A.T.S and they simply trust his judgment and sink their teeth into every new challenge.

She also enacted flawlessly in the serial ‘Special Squad.’ But left the show to pursue her film career. But unfortunately, none of her movies was released. So she returned to television through a new show called Kohinoor (Based on the novel “THE DA VINCI CODE”). The series premiered on September 5, 2005, and aired on Sahara One channel starring her in the lead.
The story focused on a young NRI Indian woman, Irawati Kohli, who lives in England and works for an art house. She comes to India in search of new things.
Death and Suicide :
On 8th February 2006, Kuljeet hanged herself in her apartment in Juhu, a suburb of Mumbai. In the suicide note, Kuljeet stated that she was ending her life as she was unable to cope with life’s pressures. Shortly before her death, she had completed filming for the movie ‘By Chance’ (THE FILM WAS NEVER RELEASED!).
She mentioned her boyfriend’s name in her suicide note. At the time of her suicide, he was away from Mumbai in Jammu. After returning, he was questioned by the Mumbai police but not found guilty on any charges.
