Born on February 25, 1955, Dennis studied fashion design at Fashion Institute of Technology, New York. After this he attended Catholic University of America, Washington D.C.
Dennis Basso is married to his husband, Michael Cominotto since 2011. The couple were dating for 20 years before tying the knot. Their marriage ceremony took place at the famous hotel, The Pierre, in New York.
Basso and his husband own a retreat in Long Island, Watermill. He described the place as “a combination of the South of France & the Italian Riviera with Southampton.”

After completing his studies, he started his own fashion house in 1983. There he designed different lines of pelts. Due to pelts’ unique design, the business grew and soon went multinational.
He was inducted into the Council of Fashion Designers of United States in 2002, owing to his success in the fashion industry.

In 2007, he made his presence felt at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, in New York, by introducing a collection of stylish and ready-to-wear wedding dresses.
Many times, Basso has designed for QVC, as well as a lot of other clients. He was awarded the Ambassador Award of QVC in the year 2009.
He merchandises handmade couture designs at his company’s website. His brand also offers handbags, and jackets made from fox fur.

His main work is in designing wedding dresses. His current labels are Dennis Basso and QVC Platinum.

Basso was a victim of one of the largest fur related robberies in the history of New York. While he and Michael wherein their winter home in Aspen, preparing to celebrate Christmas with 26 guests, his Madison Avenue store was robbed of merchandise worth more than $1 million!

I love everything I have purchased from you. I am an anti-fur individual, but I love your faux furs. I am plus size and I bought a navy reversible jacket at least 25 years ago, but it still looks new! When we go to Greenbrier, WV in December, and I am wearing Dennis Basso from head to toe including outerwear I feel fabulous.
