Wikipedia Biography / Profile Background
Introduction :
Kathleen Glynn, a short, red-haired woman with intelligent eyes and a bright personality, is a producer for the film industry since many years. A few years ago, she gained the public eye due to her messy divorce with her now ex-husband Michael Moore.
Personal Life, Parents and Family Details :
- Kathleen was born on April 10, 1958, in the city of Flint, Michigan.
- She grew up there, and although she’s an avid traveler now because of her job, she considers Michigan her home.
Marriage and Divorce :
- Glynn met Michael Moore through mutual connections while they were both working in the film industry.
- Both natives of Michigan, the two clicked instantly and found that they shared many of the same ideals and enjoyed documentaries.
- In 1991, Glynn and Moore married each other in their home state and began creating documentaries together.
- In 2013, however, Moore filed for divorce after his wife sank over $1 million into an extravagant lakeside home in northern Michigan. He felt that the purchase went against their anti-capitalistic values and treated it as the straw that broke the camel’s back.
- Their divorce was finalized in 2014.
- Kathleen has no children and has not remarried.
Early Career :
- Kathleen began her career in the film industry much like other young professionals: by joining film crews and interning.

- Later that year, she was brought on as a wardrobe assistant for the film My New Gun.
- In 1995, Glynn became the lead title and costume designer for the film Canadian Bacon.
Work as a Producer : Career and Net Worth
- After Canadian Bacon, Glynn began working almost exclusively as a producer, and almost exclusively with documentaries.
- In 2000, she got the chance to produce a TV series documentary called The Awful Truth, where her then-husband Michael Moore exposed the corruption behind events such as the Gulf War and systematic issues such as homelessness and racial profiling by police.
- Glynn acted as executive producer for all 15 episodes.
- She produced a few more documentaries before working again as the executive producer for the documentary Sicko in 2007. Once again teaming up with Moore, they shed light on the United States’ for-profit health care industry and how damaging it is to average Americans.
- Sicko won multiple awards and was even nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary in 2008.
- In 2009, Glynn worked as an executive producer on Capitalism: A Love Story, which examined large corporations looking to expand their profits and how those profits often came at the expense of the masses.
- Glynn’s most recent documentary, which came out in 2017, was Soufra. The story centered around a few refugees in Lebanon who, against all odds, have become entrepreneurs.
