- They dated for several years, however, before eventually getting married in November of 2005. After their marriage, the couple started living in Ellesborough, Buckinghamshire.
- In February 2001, at the age of 41, Gill gave birth to her only daughter, Sophie Mae Jason. Sophie was born in Stoke Mandeville Hospital, Aylesbury.
- Her pregnancy came as a surprise to Sir Jason, who did not expect to become a father at age 61. Nevertheless, he was overjoyed when Sophie Mae was born.

- While Hinchcliffe never became the primary director for any of the films she worked on, she did become the assistant director for many of them.
- In 1990, while continuing to work on Stay Lucky, the series promoted her to third assistant director. She worked in that role for 7 episodes.
