She was born as Corinna Betsch (maiden name) on 2 March 1969 in Halver, West Germany.
From a young age, she had an interest in animals, and dreamed of being a vet when she grew up.
She trained as a secretary in her teenage years, although she stated that she never enjoyed that job.
A keen horsewoman, she participated in the 2010 European Championship for western-style horse riding.

Corinna met her future husband Ferrari Driver Michael Schumacher in 1991.
The two were introduced by mutual friend Heinz Harold-Frentzen and were married in a quiet ceremony in Kerpen on 1 August 1995.
They followed that ceremony up with a church wedding for their friends and family 4 days later.
They have two children together, daughter Gina Marie Schumacher born in 1997 & son Mick born in 1999. Mick has followed his father into the Formula Racing career path.

On December 29th, 2013, Corinna’s husband & their son were skiing in the French Alps while on a family holiday when her husband Michael fell and hit his head on a rock that caused him to sustain serious head injuries.
It was reported at the time that not wearing a helmet worsened Michael’s injuries, but it was revealed that he was wearing a helmet & would have died at the scene if he wasn’t.
Placed into a medically induced coma, he was in and out of consciousness until September 9, 2014, when Corinna arranged for him to return home to their house in Switzerland.
It has been reported that she has taken on a large portion of his care herself, and that she has also sold many of his toys (including his $25 million jet) to finance his treatment.
When asked to report on his condition, she has stated that she does not believe his health to be a public issue therefore she will not comment on it publicly.
Although it was reported that he has severe memory issues, sources say that Corinna is one of the few people that he recognises.

Corinna has been an animal rights activist her entire life.
Named as a PETA ambassador in 2006, she has been particularly vocal in calling for the end of the horsemeat industry.
Although she is notoriously private, she has stated that she does not know how many celebrities can get away with wearing animal products on the red carpet.
Corinna runs a horse farm in Geneva, Switzerland, which has won numerous awards for its amazing treatment of its animals.
In 2005, her husband presented her with another horse farm in Texas in the US, as a 10-year wedding anniversary present, which she used to rehabilitate mistreated farm horses.
