• Claudia Bracchitta is a political campaigner from Chile who is currently based in the United Kingdom.
• Passionate yet reserved, Claudia has never been the one to exploit her relationship with her ex-husband – Leader of the Labour Party & political figure, Jeremy Corbyn.

• Claudia was born in Chile, but her family were exiled to and arrived in London the day she turned 11 years old.
• Her grandfather worked as a consul for the Spanish government in 1936 in Chile. This was the same year that General Franco decided to rebel against the Spanish government. Bracchitta’s grandparents spent more than three decades living in exile in Chile before fleeing the political unrest. Her grandmother decided to retire to Madrid in Spain, where her uncle named Oscar Soto also lives.
• Claudia’s uncle escaped an ambush by Spanish troops when they decided to attack then-president, Allende.
• Given her background & how influential her family was in various political events, it comes as no surprise that Claudia is still very passionate about politics and numerous social injustices happening in society.
• In 1987, she married British MP and “The Hard Left” politician Jeremy Corbyn. The two welcomed three children together – Thomas Corbyn, Seb Corbyn and Ben Corbyn.
• Jeremy & Claudia filed for divorce in 1999, after 12 years of marriage.

• The youngest son, Thomas is known for his uncanny resemblance to actor Elijah Wood (‘Frodo’of Lord of Rings Triology). He is a graduate of the University of York, & has graduated with a BSC in electrical engineering. He often sides with the political opinions of his dad & often posts pro-Labour party posts on Facebook.
• The middle son Seb has attended Cambridge University.

• Little is known about Claudia and Jeremy’s relationship or how they got together, but it has been confirmed that the couple married in 1987.
• Throughout the marriage, the couple rarely spoke openly about their relationship, but Claudia admitted that she understood and respected the media scrutiny that would come with dating such a prominent political figure.
• Prior to this marriage, Jeremy was married for five years from 1974 – 79 to professor Jane Chapman. However, the union ended after Jeremy’s relationship with fellow MP Diane Abbott came to the forefront.

Reasons for the Split :

• Despite what seemed to be a solid relationship, Corbyn and Bracchitta announced after 12 years of being married that they were filing for divorce. The reason behind the split was a difference of values and opinions regarding the education of their eldest son.
• According to both Claudia and Jeremy, she was adamant about sending their son to a quality, private grammar school. At the same time, he wanted to stay true to his values and beliefs by sending him to a comprehensive institution that was poorly ranked. Claudia hated the idea of compromising their son’s future in favour of Jeremy’s political beliefs.
• In 1990, their son, Ben, was offered a spot at a failing institution which infuriated Claudia and made her stand firmly against the idea to send him there.
• The couple eventually decided the best way to handle the situation was to split up and grant Claudia the final say in the children’s futures. She chose to send Ben to a grammar school called Queen Elizabeth, which is highly ranked and located just 9 miles from the family home.
• Despite divorcing, Corbyn and Bracchitta continued to co-parent and lived in the same building.
• 14 years later, Jeremy married for a third time in 2013 – this time to Laura Alvarez, a Mexican businesswoman and around 20 years his junior.

• Claudia has been very vocal in the past about her belief that pharmaceutical companies hide causes and cures for terminal diseases such as cancer in order to make profits.
