- Amanda Dawn Teefey (neé Cornett) was born on April 16, 1976, in Grand Prairie, Texas. She was adopted as a baby by David Cornett and Debbie Gibson, and grew up as an only child.
- At just 16 years old in year 1992, Mandy gave birth to her daughter, Selena. That same year, she married Selena’s father, Ricardo Joel Gomez, but the couple divorced five years later.
