Kerrie Louise Yaxley was born on April 18th in Australia.
She attended the Australian National University (ANU) in Canberra from 2003 to 2006 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations and Affairs. While there, Kerrie wrote a thesis in 2006 for the Australian National Internship Program entitled ‘Australia, the ‘Saudi Arabia’ of Uranium?’.

She also holds a graduate diploma in Journalism from RMIT University in Melbourne, Australia.
Kerrie has a long-term partner, Huw Matheson. Together they have two children – a daughter, Willow, and a son, Max.
Currently, Kerrie lives in Canberra, with her partner, her children, and her two dogs, a Cavoodle and a Golden Retriever.

Some supporters of the Magpies Rugby Club flashed ABC journalists, with one of them grabbing Kerrie by the face to kiss her cheek. Kerrie didn’t address the incident, but eyewitnesses saw her make a hasty exit after finishing her report.
