- Sports played a central role in Taryn’s early life. Her grandpa played football, and her dad played basketball. Taryn herself was in ballet, jazz, and tap as a kid and got into soccer later in her life. She played soccer at Delran High School, but blew out her knee and could not play in college.
- Staying close to home, Taryn started at Rutgers University in 2011. Graduating in 2014, she took full advantage of her time there, earning two Bachelor of Arts degrees: Journalism and Mass Media; and Political Science. She also covered sports for WRSU Rutgers Radio and volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and Relay for Life.

- With a clear idea of what she wanted to do, Taryn began paving her way for a career in sports while she was still in college.
- In 2013, she worked for iHeart Radio as a social media and production intern. In the same year, she earned an internship with Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, now known as NBC Sports Philadelphia – her current employer.
- Continuing to build on her experience, Taryn completed a third internship in 2014 – this one at the CBS Corporation in the sports department.
- In her senior year, she moved from intern to employee when she was hired by the Big Ten Network (BTN) as a freelance sideline reporter for NCAA basketball, and as a reporter for BTN Plus.
- Straight out of college, Taryn was hired by Hawaii News Now as a sports anchor and reporter. She remained at the network for three years before being recruited for her dream job – reporting for Philadelphia sports.

Taryn, I’ve been watching Philly sports for almost 40 yrs now, I’m 38 now. It was different when females started entering the sports world. Seeing female sports anchors took a while to get used to. But when you have professionals like Taryn to watch…all I can say is you do an excellent job, and you have helped pave the way for a smoother path for females that want to enter the previously male-dominated sports news world.
You have opened a lot of doors that used to be not only closed but locked to most females, so keep up the good work. Lastly, I lived at the Jersey shore when I was a kid…and I worked at Mac N Mancos. You’re absolutely right, best pizza around
As the father of three girls, I love seeing a female hit it in local sports broadcasting Taryn has model looks, but more importantly is very good at her job and a pleasure to listen to and watch. A very nice personality. I love the fact that the Flyers are using a “home grown” talent.

I find it amazing to see a female host for the Flyers. Taryn’s knowledge of the game is impeccable. As a father of two girls, it is good for them to see anything is possible for them as far as careers go.

I really enjoyed Teryn as the morning jost on Sportsnet, and then *poof* –
I didn’t see her anymore.
But, I was watching the Flyer’s game and *poof* – there she was.
I have watching sportsnet philly for > 30 urs & and have always appreciated how they stick with their ppl, ie Ron Burke, Leslie Gudel, Dei &! Coach Lynam, Mark Zumoff, Wheels, Whitey and Harry the K – too many to list, but it really helps viewers to see the same folks like that. Feels like family!
