- Marques was born on September 7, 1981, in Downey, California. Both of her parents were professional racing car drivers, and their passion for adventure rubbed off on her.
- She is of Portuguese and Mexican origin from her father’s side.
- Suzanne grew up in Downey with her brother Matt Marks. Matt was a performer and composer who passed away at the age of 38 after a long battle with Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia, which he was diagnosed with when he was nine years old.
- When she was around 26, Suzanne married a man named Robert Dourisboure, but after a few years of marriage, they divorced.
- The couple remained in touch after their divorce and eventually rekindled their love and remarried. They have a son named Austin.

- In 1995, Marques graduated from Downey High School where she was Song Leading co-captain and cheerleader. She was also a member of the Student Council and served as a Pep Commissioner.
- After graduating from high school, she moved to the University of Southern California (USC).

- During college, Suzanne worked as an intern for KNBC and NBC. She started working online full-time for KNBC as their web producer after graduating from college.
- 2002 saw her make her first-ever on-camera appearance as a reporter for KIEM based in Eureka, California.
- She eventually moved on to Bakersfield, California, where she reported for KGET and later, Atlanta, Georgia, where she reported for WXIA.
- After working in Atlanta for a while, Suzanne returned to Los Angeles to work as an anchor and reporter for Fox 11 Overtime, Fox 11 Morning News, Good Day LA, and That’s So Hollywood.
- Throughout the years, she has also worked as an entertainment and lifestyle journalist for KCAL9 and CBS2, in addition to being a sports reporter. She was fortunate enough to interview David Beckham after he relocated to Los Angeles to join LA Galaxy.

- When she worked for KNBC as a web producer, Marques won the 2000 and 2001 Edward R. Murrow awards for content that she produced on the website. During the same years, she also won the California/Nevada Associated Press Award.
- In 2005, she won an Emmy award for covering Dr. Barton Corbin’s murder trial and arrest leading up to the trial. She also received a Spot News Award from the National Press Photographers Association.
- Outside of work, she is an active member of the Good News Foundation, The National Association of Hispanic Journalists as well as the Story Project.
