Born in the capital of Bihar, Patna on 21st August 1977, Shweta Singh is a journalist and reporter, most popular for her work as a news anchor with the leading Hindi news channel Aaj Tak.
For her education, she completed her degree from Mass Communication. At the college level itself, the journalism bug bit her and she was employed for The Times of India office. Besides journalism, her other aspiration was to direct documentaries.
Career Start :
Singh’s news anchoring career started with Zee, followed by Sahara and later with Aaj tak. The programs she has directed on Aaj tak are as follows :
- Uparwala Dekh Raha hai
- Aaj tak ka Gaav Connection
- Shwetpatra (her signature programme)
- Vande Mataram
She has also conducted interviews of important National and international political leaders, as well as many sportsmen.
With a career of over 20 years, Shweta Singh has received numerous Best Anchor and Best Producer awards. Her special sports show titled Sourabh Ka Sixer received recognition from the Sports Journalism Federation of India.

In the film Chakravyu, she starred as an Aajtak anchor for a guest role.
