- Sara’s first industry experience in broadcasting presented itself when she joined a local hospital radio station at Walsgrave General. At the same time, she was presenting a regular Sunday afternoon programme titled ‘Sentimental Sunday.’
- She was also working behind the scenes at Mercia FM, the independent local radio station in Coventry.
- A year later, she was appointed to present the ‘Two Guys and a Girl’, a breakfast show on Leicester Sound, an independent local radio station in Leicestershire. The favourite part of this breakfast show for Sara was the ‘Jacuzzi’ interviews with a number of celebrities

- One time, she had to go to De Montfort Hall in Leicester to interview an up-and-coming boy band who had gained a bit of traction in the music industry. She had later found out she had questioned a very young Ronan Keating and Shane from ‘Boyzone.’
- On Sara’s first day of being on-screen for Live TV, the Grand National bomb scare occurred. She had never been in front of a TV camera before and had to broadcast live from the main racecourse entrance in Aintree Liverpool for six hours. She later stated in an interview, “I have to admit, my legs did not stop shaking until I got home later that night.”
- While at Live TV, she also presented a number of interesting programmes including Vets and Pets, Live Drive and Merseybeat, a crime watch program based in Liverpool.
- Sara has been presenting the weather for BBC Midlands Today for well over the past two decades.
