Rahel Solomon is an anchor & news presenter who worked for CBS 3 Eyewitness News for three years. In Feb 2019, she quit CBS3 & headed to the CNBC business network.

- Rahel was born on October 4, 1988, and grew up in West Philly and Drexel Hill.
- Although being raised in Philly, she was actually born in Sudan, with both of her parents being Ethiopian.
- The family moved to Philly when Rahel was three years old, having originally moved to be near her aunt, who lived in West Chester.
- An avid dog lover herself, Rahel was lucky enough to interview Brandon McMillan, host of the ‘Lucky Dog’ on CBS3, where he explained any dog, sheltered or breeder-bought, can be trained in 7 days!
- She has younger brothers 24-year-old Samson & 20-year-old Abel (ages as of 2023), whom she enjoys spending time with. When the NFL held its draft in Philadelphia in 2017, Solomon took her brothers to be a part of it.
- Rahel’s dream job was reporting, and though she worked for the school newspaper and broadcast team in high school, Rahel never thought it was a possibility to do this as a career.

- Rahel attended the Archbishop Prendergast High School in Drexel Hill for her early education. At school, her favorite subjects were History, English, and Government studies. She was never a big fan of math!
- Later, she graduated with high honors from St. John’s University with a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Finance. While a student at St. John’s, Ms. Solomon resided on both the Queens and Manhattan campuses.
- She initially had decided that banking would make a good career, allowing her to make money and become independent sooner; however, she claims she never really liked math.
- Rahel graduated from the Medill School of Journalism of Northwestern University, earning a Master’s degree of Science in Broadcast Journalism, after working as a production assistant with a friend at a local television station. She did get clarity for her passion upon entering the newsroom!
- She had also interned for CNN’s Special Investigations Unit in Washington in 2012.

- Solomon began her news career at NBC 10 WCAU-TV in Philly as a production assistant. Some of her friends were working there and were pleased by her work, giving Rahel her first opportunity.
- She has worked for WSAZ-TV in Charleston, West Virginia as a multimedia journalist.
- Before joining the CBS3 News team in Philly, she worked for two years at the Eyewitness News Team at KCNC-TV in Denver, Colorado.
- One of Solomon’s first assignments once returning to Philly was the groundbreaking ceremony of the Divine Loraine Hotel.
- She very much enjoyed working with her news team family, including Jim Donovan, Katie Fehlinger, and Meisha Johnson, who welcomed her with open arms to the team.

- Solomon loves spicy foods, especially spicy chips, and successfully completed the ‘Paqui One Chip Challenge’ with her co-anchor, Jim Donovan, in 2017.
- She trained with a coach & completed the Philadelphia Marathon in 2017, where about 30,000 runners had participated!
- Rahel also loves to travel and has lived in various European countries in the past, when she was studying. The Discover the World program allowed her to study in Paris, Rome, and Salamanca.
